Florida State’s Jamir Watkins, after declaring for NBA Draft, will now enter transfer portal (2024)

UPDATE: After previously declaring for the NBA Draft, Florida State forward Jamir Watkins has now entered the transfer portal.

The Seminoles’ leading scorer and rebounder last season, Wakins transferred to FSU by way of VCU.

Florida State has seen a flurry of departures via the portal this offseason — Watkins, Warley, Cam’Ron Fletcher, Cam Corhen, Primo Spears, Baba Miller, De’Ante Green, and Tom House have elected to enter — with the Seminoles adding transfers in Jerry Deng (Hampton), Malique Eqin (No. 1 JUCO prospect out of South Plains College), Justin Thomas (UTSA) and Bostyn Holt (South Dakota).

FSU signed three players from high school — Daquan Davis (four-star), AJ Swinton (three-star) and Christian Nitu (three-star) — with Chandler Jackson and Taylor Bol Bowen both set to return.

Jamir Watkins announced he is declaring for the NBA Draft today via Instagram.

Watkins transferred to Florida State from VCU prior to this year. The talented forward was named as an Honorable Mention All-ACC member after leading the Seminoles in scoring and rebounds last season.
