slu*tty Brownies

With so much temptation in every bite, these loaded brownies are perfect for dessert, parties, holidays, the annual cookie exchange, birthdays, or just your typical workday.

Why are they called slu*tty Brownies?

I have no proof, but it’s due to the decadence, ease of making the recipe, and sheer joy of eating the dessert. If slu*tty brownies isn’t your thing, try loaded brownies or double chocolate cookie brownies.

My friend, Briana, makes these all the time and says, “After taking these to work- I’m pretty sure that they’re called slu*tty b/c they’re involved in a “three-way,” and it’s like an orgy of yummy sugary goodness going on…”

You can also make slu*tty brownies from scratch with your favorite chocolate chip cookie recipe and homemade brownie recipe.

Either way leads to a fantastic dessert!

How to Make Easy slu*tty Brownies

For individual portions, I use a muffin tin with baking liners.

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees

  • Make the coolie dough

  • Press the cookie dough into the bottom of your pan. I scooped about 1 Tablespoon into each of the 36 nonstick sprayed baking liners. (Freeze any leftover cookie dough or bake cookies)

  • Add Peanut Butter Cups to the top of the cookie dough (I used Boyer brand peanut butter cups. Everyone has heard of Reeses, but even though Boyer is “nationwide,” they’re usually more known for their awesome “mallow cups” than for their peanut butter “smoothies.” Boyer makes peanut butter cups in milk chocolate, but they also make “smoothies,” which are peanut butter cups surrounded by BUTTERSCOTCH. Yeah, yummy goodness…So- as an experiment- I used half chocolate-covered peanut butter cups and half butterscotch-covered peanut butter cups.)

  • Make your favorite brownie batter. I suggest theultimate fudge espresso brownie mixw/out the coffee added. (If you’re in a pinch and don’t have time to make the batter, you can use a mix- Betty Crocker makes a container to which you add a little water and shake and pour. If you use that- you’ll need at least two containers.)
  • Pour brownie batter into baking liners to cover the peanut butter cups.

Why Does The Cookie Dough Need To Be Room Temperature For slu*tty Brownies?

For the best result, the cookie dough should be at room temperature. This allows the dough to be easily spread in the bottom of the pan and reduces the time the fat in the cookie dough takes to melt.

Frozen or chilled dough will take longer than room-temperature dough to bake, so your bottom layer may be raw while your brownie is cooked to perfection.

Can I Change Up The Peanut Butter Cups?

Sure! Try Oreos instead. I’m a fan of the double-stuffed but Mint and Birthday Cake Oreos are a close second!

How To Know When slu*tty Brownies Are Done

Just like regular brownies, slu*tty brownies will pull away from the edge of the pan as they are done. The toothpick check works here, too, it should come out clean when inserted and removed from the center of the brownie.

How to Store slu*tty Brownies

  • slu*tty Brownieswill stay good at room temperature for up to 2 days. Keep them fresh longer by storing them in an airtight container or a sealable bag.
  • Loaded brownies will stay good for 3 days in the refrigerator fridge in an airtight container. Allow the slu*tty Brownies to cool to room temperature before putting them away.
  • Freeze the brownies for up to 6 months in an airtight container.

Homemade VS Store Bought

I’m all about shortcuts, and these loaded brownies work great with refrigerated cookie dough and a boxed brownie mix. It’s a quick fix to get to the treat!

Here’s the Store-Bought Hack:

  • 1 package Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough
  • 12 Peanut Butter Cups
  • 1 box Chocolate Brownie Mix (prepared as directed)

How to Make slu*tty Brownies with Store-Bought Dough and Brownie Mix:

  1. Spray an 8×8 pan with nonstick spray. Preheat your oven to 350 degrees.
  2. Press the chocolate chip cookie dough into the bottom of the pan and bake for 10 minutes in preheated oven.
  3. Allow the pan to cool for 5 minutes.
  4. Top baked cookie dough with peanut butter cups.
  5. Add half the brownie batter, and bake for an additional 20 minutes. (Remaining batter can be used for another pan of brownies).

FAQs

What are the three types of brownies? ›

Brownie textures fall into three general camps… Cakey, fudgy and chewy. Cakey brownies, like the name implies, are light, moist and airy, with a slightly fluffy, cake-like interior. Fudgy brownies are moist, dense and gooey, with almost the texture of fudge, but not quite as compact.

What is the difference between brownie and cookie batter? ›

If you've ever made brownies vs chocolate cookies – you'll know that brownie batter is thinner and glossier. This is because brownie batter has less flour/dry ingredients than a cookie recipe with the same amount of butter.

Why are they called S * * * * * brownies? ›

The Londoner describes why they called them "slu*tty brownies" perfectly: "they're oh so easy, and more than a little bit filthy." Just as simple as I would've imagined. They are as easy to make as they are messy to eat. If you look up slu*tty Brownies on Pinterest there are thousands of recipes listed.

What makes brownies fudgy vs cakey? ›

Fudgy brownies have a higher fat-to-flour ratio than cakey ones. So add more fat—in this case, butter and chocolate. A cakey batch has more flour and relies on baking powder for leavening. The amount of sugar and eggs does not change whether you're going fudgy or cakey.

What does adding an extra egg to brownie mix do? ›

If you opt to add more eggs, say double the amount, something interesting happens. Even though you are adding more moisture, the air bubbles that you catch in the extra eggs add volume, which decreases the density of your final product. This makes your brownies rise and gives them a much more cake-like texture.

What does adding milk instead of water do to brownies? ›

One change is to use milk or heavy cream instead of water. This change will make brownies more moist and gooey since milk is more fatty and flavorful than water. A second change is to use butter instead of oil. For similar reasons to using milk, butter adds a rich and more decadent quality to the batter.

How to jazz up boxed brownies? ›

Add nuts – Add a handful of finely chopped pecans or walnuts if you love brownies with nuts. Add mix ins – Jazz up a basic brownie mix with chopped mini peanut butter cups, white chocolate chunks, or your favorite chopped up candy bar. Add a swirl – Swirl in spoonfuls of peanut butter or Nutella before baking.

Should you beat brownie batter? ›

If you prefer fudgy brownies, mix until the wet and dry ingredients are just combined. Overmixing allows more air into the batter, which will give you lighter, cake-like brownies instead of dense, rich ones. (On the flip side, if you do want your brownies to be cakey, beat the eggs more.)

What's healthier cookies or brownies? ›

One chocolate chip cookie also has considerably fewer calories than a brownie, with the average brownie containing about 130 calories. Considering that brownies and chocolate chip cookies have comparable nutritional profiles, neither is better for you than the other.

Is brownie batter better thick or thin? ›

The ideal consistency of brownie mix is thick and gooey, similar to a thick cake batter. When you mix the ingredients together, the batter should be smooth and free of lumps, with a slightly sticky texture. This consistency is important for achieving moist and fudgy brownies that are rich in flavor.

How many types of brownies are there? ›

There are three distinct types of brownie recipes — fudgy, chewy, and cakey — and they each bring something a little different to the table.

What is the old version of brownies? ›

Did you know that Brownies were originally called 'Rosebuds'? Rosebuds was established in 1914 for girls to join before they became Guides. Just one year later, the name was changed to Brownies. Brownies are the second-youngest members of the Girlguiding family, for girls aged between 7 and 10.

What are brownies classified? ›

Brownies are not classified as cakes – this is a very interesting point about the brownie. The reason for this is that although the texture is similar to cakes, it is classed as finger food (whereas usually cake is eaten with a fork), therefore they are categorised as a cookie bar (in America).

What's the difference between brownies and fudge brownies? ›

Brownies have a cake-like texture with a crispy top and a moist, fudgy center and are typically baked in a rectangular pan. Fudge, on the other hand, is typically made by cooking a mixture of sugar, butter, and milk or cream until it reaches a soft, chewy consistency.
