Good morning Glasgow. Hopefully no rain today with the Met Office promising a mix of sun and cloud. Here’s Tuesday’s Wrap:

🎖 The story of the Gorbals man who “unveiled” the Christmas Truce Bench in Central Station (and returned recently to install a special plaque on site) has been told to Ann Fotheringham, Glasgow Times.
↪ Jimmy Docherty, 98, is a Royal Navy veteran and retired railway worker who sailed in the Arctic convoys and played a role in the D-Day landings.

🚗 The M8 J15 offslip to Castle Street will be closed for works from 8pm-6am, April 15-29. Diversions will be in place. - Ben Waddell, Glasgow Times.

🚴‍♀️ Bike For Good has launched a free eCargo bike loan scheme allowing riders to test out the useful bikes for two weeks. Samar Jamal has written a feature about the scheme for Greater Govanhill.

Resident Thomas Burns said: “I have been dealing with mice since the first day I moved into the flat four months ago. I have even been woken up in the night with a mouse scratching at my legs.”

📌 Hutchesontown Community Council meets on the 3rd Tuesday of every month. Next meeting Tuesday 21st May 7pm in the St. Francis Centre Cumberland street. We will have a stall at Gorbals Fayre on Saturday 1st June, if you live in the Gorbals area please come along.

📌 Govanhill Spring Clean planned for 27 April. Local residents, organisations, charities and businesses are coming together for a Govanhill Spring Clean event. The plan is to meet at the Al-Farooq Education and Community Centre on Dixon Ave in Govanhill on the 27 April at 10:30am. They day will begin with a briefing before teams of folk will head out to pick up litter. Volunteers will meet back at the community centre for refreshments at 12:15.
